Decrease in 2014 vote by Age Group

A review of the early voting roster for Harris County Texas 2010 and 2014 November election sorted by age groups show the following:

1) The 2014 vote was down compared to the 2010 Midterm Election: In the 2010 November Election there were 392,446 early voters while there were 307,280 in 2014.
2) In 2010 voters 65 years of age or older constituted 21 percent of the voters during early voting; in 2014, the same age group constituted 25 percent of the voters. That is a very significant +4%.
3) Overall, 56% of the registered voters were born after 1964 (Generation X and Millennials). Still, 67 % of all in-person early voters were 50 years of age or older.
It is very likely that these number will also be evident in the election day vote.
(This analyses is based on Harris County’s voting data which is available for public inspection.)
