Alone, the 2016 Spanish-surnamed voter turnout in SRDs held by Hispanics (140, 143, 144, 145 and 148) may not seem very impressive. Out five, only SRD 148 reached beyond 50 percent. It is only when compared with the 2012 Spanish-surnamed voter turnout that the marked improvement is evident.
On the other hand, the combined Spanish-surnamed voter turnout in SRDs held by non-Hispanic Whites was near 60 percent with the high being 66 percent and the low 52.
